Morgan Elliott with his parents

Graves High student leads Buddy Walk

Graves County High School freshman Morgan Elliott recently was named as a 2011 “Yes, I Can!” Award winner by the Kentucky Council for Exceptional Children. That achievement is one of the reasons he was chosen for another honor. He served as the grand marshal of the Down Syndrome Association of Western Kentucky’s Tenth Annual Buddy Walk in Paducah. It took place at Noble Park Saturday, Oct. 22, since October is National Down Syndrome Awareness Month. Morgan is pictured here with his parents, Amy and Michael Elliott. The Buddy Walk is a celebration promoting awareness and acceptance of people with Down Syndrome. Besides the walk, the afternoon event featured music as well as face painting and inflatables for the children.
