it can be done

the eggner ferry bridge concern

my concern is the constuction of the new bridges to get things going a little sooner, for the economic impact, recreational impact. my thoughts are FACT no traffic now that means on the east side of eggner ferry, they could start constuction like planned exept line up pedestran lane to old bridge so traffic can resume. commercial, recreational traffic on lake not effected. In the mean timestart west side at same tme till connection made on east side.then they have that much done on new bridge. It will get traffic going again, you cant use bridge any way no traffic until new to second section done.year and a half at most two year better that four or five.the pillar in question would be gone not to worry about it ,there would be new all the way to second section.I am not an engineer dont know the details but it makes sence, they have to start on eggner ferry bridge first now anyway. They can start new 4 lane on east side also .lets put some people to work after all this is america and THIS IS A BRIDGE TO SOMEWHERE!!!!!

You are right, the main affect is going to be economic. Aurora will be the most affected. It is already on its last legs and this will probably kill aurora off. Folks working and having to use the alternate routes are hit hard by $3. gasoline.
