Graves County Middle School seventh graders recently learned about Finland from Jan Mayes, a member of the Friendship Homemakers Club in Farmington. Mayes developed her presentation as part of the club's international project. The students got a glimpse of life in Finland, including the economy, the culture, and even the food. Mayes and family spent time in Finland as part of a Murray State University professor exchange program. These students in librarian Kelly Locker's reading block also will creating their own informative speeches as part of the Common Core Standards students in Kentucky are following.
