Farmers online votes help Graves Schools

Farmers’ on-line votes can help Graves County Schools receive grant
The America's Farmers Grow Rural Education is sponsored by the Monsanto Fund to help farmers have a positive impact on their communities and to support local school districts. The fund is designed to enhance math and/or science education.
Nominations must be made by farmers who are 21 years of age or older and who actively farm 250 or more acres of corn, soybeans, and/or cotton or 40 or more acres of open field vegetables or ten or more acres of vegetables grown in a protected culture.
The nomination deadline is April 15.
Graves County Schools’ grants coordinator Kirk Haynes said, “The more nominations submitted on our behalf indicates the amount of community support we have.” He recommended that school district supporters make a point to share the nomination information with local farmers.
To nominate Graves County Schools, log on to http://www.growruraleducation.com, contact Haynes at (270) 328-1555 or 674-1555 or email him at kirk.haynes@graves.kyschools.us.
