Graves County High School students listen to Dr. Brad Mills talk about his career as an orthodontist. His was one of several “career chats” the school hosted recently. Kentucky is preparing for the future. According to the Center for Education and the Workforce, in the next seven to ten years, more than half of the jobs in Kentucky and more than 60 percent of jobs nationwide will require postsecondary education (either a two-year or four-year degree). Most of the remaining jobs will require at least some training after high school. The Kentucky Department of Education’s Unbridle Learning: College/Career Readiness for All initiative is designed to ensure every student is prepared for college and/or career by the time they graduate from high school.
