Jack Goodwin

Graves Hi art scholarship reception 5/4

Graves County High School hired Jack Goodwin as its first art teacher when the school opened in 1985. He will retire after 27 years at the close of this school year. Throughout April, a number of his paintings and those of his students are on display in the Graves County Schools’ Performing Arts Center Gallery.
Goodwin’s paintings are for sale through a silent auction. Bids can be made throughout April. All proceeds will go into a fund to award a scholarship each year in Goodwin’s name. It will go to an art student who has a monetary need to be used in conjunction with whatever grants that student can obtain. Financial need and grades in the visual arts will be the sole requisites.
Goodwin will be honored with a reception in the PAC Gallery, located adjacent to Graves County High School, at 7 p.m. Friday, May 4, during the spring concert of the Graves County High School Orchestra. Refreshments will be served.
