Graves Hi engineering open house Oct. 22

The Graves County Schools’ Project Lead The Way will host an open house for prospective students and their parents soon. Pictured here are PLTW students Greg Willett and Shelby Carter, who won a contest in their freshman pre-engineering class at the close of the 2011-12 school year for an innovation they designed and created to mount a cell phone on a bicycle. They are pictured with their then-teacher, Abbie Morris, at far left, and Rudy Ottway, a Murray State University engineering technology instructor and doctoral candidate, who judged the contest. The open house is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22. Presenters include program graduates and teachers as well as university professors. From 6:10 p.m. to 7 p.m., those in attendance will have the opportunity to visit various booths. Operating them will b e representatives of two local universities, the GCHS Engineering Club, and PLTW classes. The open house is scheduled at the Graves County Schools’ Performing Arts Center and Gallery, located adjacent to Graves County High School at the corner nearest the intersection of Ky.
