Mayfield-Graves CCC seeks cash for needy

The Mayfield-Graves County Community Christmas Connection still needs some $35,000 to provide gifts for the large number of underprivileged children in the community in the midst of economic recession. Mayfield-Graves County Community Education and the family resource and youth services centers of the Graves County Schools and Mayfield Elementary School are accepting donations of cash and new toys through Dec. 14. Pictured at the CCC Store at 316 S. Eighth St. in Mayfield are, from left, Stacy Harris, Jean Ann Miller, Kim Wheeler, Lori Beyer, Kaye Horn, and Juliana Reyes. They’re grateful for the tremendous contributions of the Graves County Truck Pullers Association and others. "We really appreciate the help of two Mayfield churches as well," said Community Education director Wheeler. "First United Methodist is loaning us their building space at no cost and First Assembly of God is putting Christmas food baskets together.” Even with all contributions received so far, this year’s need still exceeds funds received. To donate or to learn more, contact Mayfield Elementary School’s F.A.C.E. Center at (270) 247-0313, contact any Graves County school or phone (270) 674-4908 or 328-4908.
