Graves Hi's Lamb excels @ Rotary speech

Graves County High School student Audrey Lamb recently won the Mayfield Rotary Club’s annual speech contest and the first place prize of $300. She then spoke at the sectional competition, which this year also was held at a Mayfield Rotary Club meeting. She finished as runner-up and was awarded a $200 prize in competition against juniors and seniors from Paducah Tilghman, Trigg County, and Fulton high schools. The Rotary International president chooses the theme of speeches each year. This year’s theme is “Peace through Service.” Lamb said she’s hopeful that her success as a freshman will help her to achieve greater heights later in her high school career. She is a member of the GCHS Forensics Team and competes in original oratory, where she writes and presents her own speeches.
