Eagle Foundation improves GCHS cafeteria

The Graves County High School Eagle Foundation recently unveiled renovations to the Graves County High School cafeteria. Funds raised from the Foundation’s first annual “Night with a Champion” featuring Tim Tebow, voluntary employee payroll deduction, and other private donations helped make possible the cafeteria’s first major facelift since the inception of the school in 1985. Modernization included new laminate countertops, suspended awnings, artwork, and signage. Existing rolling condiment carts and counters were given a fresh coat of paint and new hardware was installed with the help of GCHS agriculture students. In addition, all of the equipment used in the the ala carte line “The Perch” was relocated, WK&T donated a new 55” television, and new American and Kentucky flags were added to complete the new updated decor. According to Eagle Foundation Board of Director member Kellie Wilferd, “I was so excited about this being the first project for the Eagle Foundation because it was something that benefited every student, and it is an area that is also widely used by a lot of local groups for banquets and meetings. This being the school I attended—I love seeing lasting improvements made! Thanks to supporters of the Eagle Foundation for being part of the “giving back” and for creating an area that now reflects pride in our school and community! On hand to see the completion of the renovations were board members, from left, (front row) Kellie Wilferd, Darvin Towery, Michelle McKee, (back row) Matthew Madding, David Hargrove, Doug Gloyd, and Dr. Tim Jones.
