Graves Middle new asst principal Miller

Graves County Middle School has named Jonathan Miller as its new assistant principal, replacing Alison Gregory, who this spring was chosen as the new principal at Symsonia Elementary School. Miller previously taught language arts at Graves County Middle School for four years and served on the District Instructional Leadership Team for two years.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in middle school education at Brescia University in Owensboro, where he earned a baseball scholarship, from his playing days at Graves County High School. He is a 2001 graduate of GCHS. He earned a master’s degree in school administration and instructional leadership through a Bellarmine University cohort of Graves County educators. This past December, he completed Rank I certification through the University of the Cumberlands in instructional supervision.
For the past three years, Miller has served as assistant principal and athletic director at Mayfield Middle School.
“I’m excited about coming back to Graves County because it’s where I started my career and I graduated from Graves County,” he said. “I believe now I have the tools to help our principal, Andy Williams, and the staff to prepare our students for the curriculum they’re expected to learn and for their futures as contributing members of society. I’m looking forward to working with the teachers, too.”
Miller’s wife, Jade, this fall will begin her third year as a middle school teacher in Lyon County. They have a 2-year-old daughter, Emlie, and are expecting another daughter in late October.
