Graves boys win 1st ever soccer regional

The Graves County High School boys’ soccer team defeated Marshall County Wednesday evening, winning the program’s first-ever First Region Tournament Championship.

GCHS athletic director Doug Gloyd said the Eagles move on to semi-state competition, as part of the Sweet 16, and will play Bowling Green High School at Bowling Green’s home field at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28.

The winner of that match advances to the Elite 8 at Henry Clay High School in Lexington Saturday, Nov. 2.

The Final Four match for the winner will be held at Paul Lawrence Dunbar High School in Lexington Wednesday, Nov. 6.

The boys’ soccer state championship match is scheduled for Paul Lawrence Dunbar High School in Lexington at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, all according to Gloyd.
