GC Eagle golfer signs with Murray State

Graves County High School senior Lance Davis recently signed a letter of intent to play golf for Murray State University. He finished the fall 2013 season with a 9-hole scoring average of 36 to lead the region. He placed eighth in the Kentucky High School Athletic Association Tournament. Lance Davis also won the Paducah, Ballard County, and Marshall County high school invitational tournaments. His Marshall County Invitational score was a 5-under par 67. He has played on the GCHS golf team since the sixth grade. He said he’s happy to sign with the Racers because MSU now is a Division 1 NCAA university and three of his former Graves County teammates play golf there. Lance Davis is pictured seated here, flanked by his father, Greg Davis, and mother, Keri Davis. Standing behind them, from left, are Lance Davis’ coaches, from left, Chuck Whitnell, Matthew Clark, and Scott Bradley.
