Graves MS students help tornado victims

The Graves County Middle School Jr. Beta Club, whose motto is "Let us lead by serving others," organized a collection of items for those in need in Brookport, Ill., in the aftermath of a devastating tornado there Sunday, Nov. 17. The announcement for the collection was made at the school Monday afternoon and items were brought in Tuesday morning. Graves County Middle School students collected a truckload and a vanload of items that they dropped off at Heartland Worship Center in Paducah to be delivered to Brookport. The club started the drive in honor of seventh grade social studies teacher Glen Seaton, whose house was damaged by the tornado that Sunday afternoon. Here, Jr. Beta members show off the items collected Tuesday morning. Reading teacher and media specialist Kelly Locker is the club’s sponsor.
