Graves Hi JROTC wins Raider Competition

Graves County High School’s Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps Raider Team travelled to Ft. Knox High School recently, spent the night on the gym floor, and then competed all of the next day in the Raider Team competition. With 24 other teams competing, Graves County’s JROTC won first place. Graves County’s teacher-leader is Retired Army Lt. Col. Jason T. Caldwell. He said, “Basically, taking first place at Ft. Knox to me is like winning the state championship in another sport. Every JROTC program in the state of Kentucky and several from Tennessee and Indiana were there competing and to take first, when we only have one year under our belt is unbelievable!” Pictured here, from left, are (front row) Albani Orduna, T.J. Fowler, Devin Shelton, Joe Sisco, Breanna Ball, Andrew Brewer, Nathan Phipps, (back row) Destiny Dachs, Jakob Mueller, Kaler Luker, Jaden Vivian, Tristen Turner, Cesar Cirrilo, and Moises Diaz.
