Graves' Justin Roberts 2 golf 4 Brescia

Graves County High School senior golfer Justin Roberts, flanked by his parents, Jason and Kim Roberts, recently signed a letter of intent to join the golf team on scholarship at Brescian University in Owensboro. Standing behind them are, from left, Graves coach Chuck Whitnell, Brescia coach David Ballou, and Graves coaches Matt Clark and Scott Bradley. “I am very proud of Justin,” Whitnell said. “He is probably one of our more consistent golfers throughout the years. In all of the tournaments we have played in, he was one of the best scorers for our team. He had some real highlights. He eagled several holes this year, which is a pretty good accomplishment for golfers. At the state tournament, he had two good rounds. He placed third in the Marshall County Invitational. He had a great senior year.” Ballou said, “I’ve been watching him over the years in some of his summer programs. I saw him play over here at Paducah and he seems to have pretty good resources down here in western Kentucky.” Ballow said of Brescia, “We went to nationals the past two years. We compete in the Kentucky Athletic Intercollegiate Conference and we are in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.”
