Erdmann's Christmas Display

Approximately 8 years ago, I decided to surprise my wife by building and painting a few characters to decorate the yard for Christmas. At that time our niece was at the age she loved Barney and his friends, so those were the first 3 characters completed. Since 2002 we added several cartoon characters representing the past several decades of television, movies, and comic books. In 2003 our daughter was born, which allowed us to focus more on the princesses. All the characters are handmade from plywood and finished with exterior paint by our family (including our 6 year old daughter, niece, siblings, and our parents) and our neighbor. There are over 3 dozen trees in the display ranging in height from 1.5' to 12'. We start putting the decorations up after Halloween and take them down by New Year's Day.
