Joe and Jenni at Thanksgiving

Finding life again

After losing my husband and moving back to NC, I realized how much I missed some of my family here in Ky. A friend of mine found out I was coming back to Paducah and suggested I go out to dinner with a friend of his, named Joe. Joe and I talked on the phone some and I finally made it to Paducah. It was a whirlwind week, seeing family during the day, and Joe showing me the beauty of Kentucky Lake and surrounding areas. I went home to NC and still talked with Joe on the phone. I came back to Ky because we both felt there was something there...and there was. He had brought contentment back into my heart. After a month or so, Joe brought love back into a broken and hurt heart. He goes out of his way to make me smile. He understands when a movie makes me cry, or a memory comes around that makes me silent. When we had the recent snow on Tuesday, he took me by the hand and walked me around in the snow, knowing I am scared of falling in the snow. But, the he takes my hand a lot of times, knowing I walk afraid of life and the future. And I know, in his hands, I am safe and secure once again.
