My mother and I have not always seen eye to eye. We have our tiffs and fights but in the end I think it is because we are so much alike. I want to tell you the kind of woman my mom is. When I was a teenager, about 15 or so, my mom made a heart-wrenching decition to send me to live with my father because I was out of control. I called her every name in the book and told her I never wanted to see her again and all sorts of aweful things. She never gave up on me. I became pregnant with my son who is now six and my mom was always driving the three hours for a mear thirty minute doctor appointment only to turn around and drive back. I was only 18 when my wonderful son came into this world and I don't know what I would have done with her during that time or my son for that matter. I was not much of a mother at that time in my life and she stepped in. She became his caregiver and put her whole life on hold to raise my son. By the time I wanted to take over, I had lost him to his father. Nothing tore my heart out more, but my mom was always there for my terrible outbursts and always telling me how much she loved me no matter what the circumstances may have been. I love my mom with every ounce of love that is in me and there are not enough words in the English vocabulary to do her justice. I now have two more children and I am getting married in June and my mom has been my right hand person for all of it. She has always showed me more love than I ever thought was possible and because of her great love for me, I am now confident that I can pass that along to my children with confidence.
