Mothers are known for doing so much for so many others, but it is rare to find a woman that has raised four children of her own, now cares for five grandchildren (with two more on the way) and carries the burdens of everyone around her while being awarded Employee of the Year at a new job, training and running in a full marathon (26.2 miles), and most importantly keeping her humble, loving, faithful and encouraging spirit about her 100% of the time.
Our mother truly doesn’t know how to do anything half way. She sacrifices her own desires so that she can help others with theirs. Over the past couple of years, she has encouraged a son and a daughter both going through infertility issues, housed newlyweds for almost a year, traveled eight hours every chance she got to see a granddaughter and help her daughter and son adjust to new cities, stayed by her triplet grandbabies’ side while in the NICU for two months and continues to help take care of them at night when she gets home from work and on the weekends, and now she is helping her oldest daughter clean and nest as she’s on bed rest with twins (Yes, triplet AND twin grandbabies in under two years!!!) It is a wonder that she could do all these things and still volunteer for a number of good causes, receive the Employee of the Year award at work and run in a full marathon. Once she commits to something, you will not see her back down. That is only one of the great life lessons that she taught the four of us and still demonstrates to this day.
Our mother, Debbie Flowers, is simply put…an AMAZING individual! Anyone who meets her realizes instantly how truly genuine and loving she is. I can’t count the number of times someone has told me that I have a precious mother - to which I always answer, “I know. God has truly blessed me.” I wish that I had more of her amazing qualities. She is the most gentle, humble, encouraging, compassionate, giving and patient person I know. She is one who consistently gives while expecting nothing in return. As you can see, our mother more than deserves to be selected as the “Area’s Best Mom”!
Mom, thank you for being our prayer warrior, our angel, and our friend. We love you!
