Flooding at Grand Rivers Lighthouse Marina

Water Rises, Barkley Dam Full Steam

Several dozen onlookers gathered near Barkley Dam at sunset as waters continued to rise in Grand Rivers. The Lighthouse Marina area, including the scenic gazebo park, were flooded. TV cameras, state police, amateur photographers, and fisihermen watched the record-setting levels.

Lighthouse Marina is on Kentucky Lake. However, it is close to the Barkley Dam only a few miles since Grand Rivers is a island that the Canel joins Kentucky Lake (which is part of TN River) and Barkley Lake (which is part of Cumberland River)
