Levi break at new Independence Bank

This afternoon during the storm the Levy at the new Independence Bank in Lone Oak, broke.

While I was taking photos in the rain a bank employee was also taking photos.

Ongoing flooding issues have been brought back to life this afternoon when the levy for water containment basin broke . This time the water washed out a neighbors drive and flooded another neighbors house.

Contractors for the Independence Bank in Lone Oak built the containment basin but it was not strong enough for this little storm, it makes me wonder what would have happened during a big storm or a longer period of rain.

This problem has been an ongoing issue for several years and has been made worse by the banks solution. It didn’t work and damaged 2 homes.

For years our back yards have flooded from the runoff from Lone Oak road and the strip mall, it is like a river here every time it rains. There is an open drain draining behind our garage and into our backyard. This problem has been brought to the county’s attention several times and their solution was to dig an open ditch in front of our homes. I am all for economical advancement but not at our and other home owners expense. We have all been with met brick walls and blatant disregard for this problem.

I have more photos and videos.
