Miss Pearl, as "The Cat in the Hat"

Queenie Pearl Returns to her Kingdom!

Pearl is part Siamese, but has the personality of a much more gentle breed. She was adopted by my family when only 4-5 weeks of age, over 13 years ago. For many years she would play, scamper about the house chasing after objects she "pawed", or loved stalking people or things, and then pouncing with surprise was a favorite, like her hiding in the shower curtain, and then jumping out at me in the bathroom. Being a indoor pampered family pet, she is definitely an important family member. When she slipped outside last Christmas, and was lost for 29 days, I thought I would grieve myself crazy, worrying about her. When we found her on the 29th day, sneaking from underneath a neighbors house, to get something to eat, she had lost nearly 50% of her body weight. The vet said she was a miracle to have survived the winter elements so well. Now, seven months later, she has gained back her weight, and has resumed her life of reigning over our household. Her life consists mostly of sleeping, both night and day. Her favorite place in on the foot of my bed, but likes to nap closeby to whereever I might be during the day. Sleeping is her chief interest, but considering her age, I believe she probably needs the extra rest. She has had a full life of adventures, companionship, Love, and admiration from everybody who has met her.
I intend to see that she spends the rest of her life without worry of the cold, extreme heat, nor being hungry. For she has brought so much pleasure, love and companionship to our little family.
