jacob at his first camping trip after crps

crps- and JACOB RUBY

jacob ruby is a 17 yr old sr. at marshall county high school and suffers from a horrible and debilitaing disease known as crps-complex regional pain syndrome. he was a healthy 17 yr old inlate sept of 09 when he started having real bad pain, several drs and many tests later in dec 09 he was diagnosed with crps where the pain is constant and his feet and legs turn cold and blue cant stand to be touched and no meds helped. we went through with 2 lumbar sympathetic nerve blocks and because of hte spread of the disease at that time he has not been able to walk since feb of this yr he is wheelchair bound and has to be put in and out of bed and wheelchair as well as helped with daily activities. the disease affects the nerves in your body causing the pain to be relentless and non ending it is so rare most drs have either never heard of it or just dont want to diagnose it. if caught in the early stages , within 2 months of onset it can be put into remission however in jacobs case it was not diagnosed for 5 months and now it has been 11 months, he will be heading to boston childrens hospital in sept after several attempts by parents to find a dr or facility who will accept him for his age and his insurance,he is hoping to it least be able to move his legs on his own even though the possibility of walking again isnt very promising we are hoping for a miracle. there will be a benefit dinner and singing featuring the liberty boys and truly blessed on sat august 14th at 4 for the dinner and at 530 truly blessed and at 7 the liberty boys. the benefit will help get jacob to and from boston childrens hospital for the in-patient 6 wk program so it will help with expenses incurred during his stay. the family will need to be renting a vehicle to and from boston, as well as the stay itself. jacob and his mom will be staying in boston while dad has to return home after getting them settled so he can return to work and take care of the other two teen sons that will be in school as juniors at marshall county high school this year. the community is asked to please come out to support our mission to get jacob the help he has needed for 11 months.

thanks, jennier ruby

Hello - How is Jacob doing? Our son has CRPS and we fortunately were able to receive great care at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital. Prayers for your family and son.
