Local fitness center takes part in world record attempt

If your New Year’s resolution was to get in shape and stick to a workout routine, you could have been part of a world record attempt over the weekend.

Weight loss and fitness company Visalus attempted to break a record for the world’s largest simultaneous workout on Saturday. So, people got on their feet at the Lake Barkley Fitness Center for Zumba lessons.

For every participant, Visalus donated 30 meals to Project 10 Kids, which is an initiative to fight obesity. The final tally from all the sites around the world won’t be available for a couple more days.

There were 54 participants at the Lake Barkley location, so that means 1,620 meals will be donated to Project 10 Kids.
