Help Wanted: Several job fairs approaching

Our area has experienced a lot of layoffs in recent years. In this week’s Help Wanted, several groups are working to get you back on the job.

Here are the hiring events happening soon and current job openings:

1.) Extra Help Inc. is hosting three job fairs this month. On Sept. 18 and 25, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. They’ll be set up at the Courtyard By Marriott in Paducah. That’s at 3835 Technology Drive. Then, on Sept. 23 at the Kentucky Career Center on 416 S. 6th St. in Paducah from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. They’re hosting a hiring event. 2.) Lowes Home Improvement: This is being held at the Kentucky Career Center in Paducah on Sept. 7 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. They’re looking to hire for multiple positions.

3.) MPW Industrial Services: This is being held at the Kentucky Career Center in Paducah on Sept. 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. They’ll be interviewing for technicians and laborers.

4.) Crown Services: This is being held at the Kentucky Career Center in Paducah on Sept. 29 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. They’ll be hiring for multiple positions in the Gilbertsville area.

5.) Field Representatives – United States Census Bureau: To learn more about this hiring event happening on Oct. 5, contact the Kentucky Career Center.

6.) Customer Service Representatives – Kingdom Trust; Murray, KY: Customer Service Representatives will be responsible for account setup and maintenance; service issues or complaints; and telephone, email and fax correspondence. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent is preferred. Related work experience may be substituted for an educational requirement. One to two years of experience in customer service, a call center, or related environment and/or training is preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office products is needed. Experience in investment or financial industry is preferred.

  • Here are the skills needed: effective verbal and written communication skills, effective time management and prioritization of tasks, and  proficiency with PCs and other office equipment. Responsibilities include: ensuring all requested paperwork is processed efficiently; making inbound and outbound calls, emails and faxes; making detailed account notes of client interactions; and other duties as assigned. The last day to submit a resume is Friday, Sept. 25.
