Help Wanted: The best websites for your job search

In today’s digital world, you probably use the internet to search for a job. But it’s not always easy to know the best site to plug in that address bar. Here are six websites that yield the best job search results, according to U.S. News & World Report.

1.) Company websites. Virtually every company has a section on its site for employer branding and job openings. Many times they encourage you to apply directly online.
2.) Traditional job boards. The two giants are CareerBuilder and Monster.

3.) Specialty job boards. There are many tailored to a single industry, skill set, or professional group. Some examples: Medzilla for the pharmaceutical and biotech industries; Dice for IT and software engineering positions.

4.) LinkedIn, where any recruiter or company can pay to list positions. LinkedIn goes beyond job searching functions with social features that enable you to see which of your connections works at target companies.

5.) Google and Yahoo groups.

6.) Facebook, which recently announced it has indexed 2 trillion prior public posts and made them searchable by anyone, including job hunters.
