Cracker Barrel construction site catches fire
A Saturday morning fire heavily damaged the front portion a Cracker Barrel under construction near Mayfield, according to the Graves County Sheriff’s Office.
Graves County deputies are calling the fire suspicious and are investing alongside the Kentucky State Fire Marshal’s office. It started around 1:30 a.m. Firefighters were able to contain the damage to the front porch area of the restaurant.
Cracker Barrel’s Director of Corporate Communications Janella Escobar says they’re glad no one was hurt and are definitely still opening. She says they’re excited to be a part of the Graves County community.
“We have a very strategic and complex process of how we pick out our new unit sites and certainly Mayfield is one of the sites where we want to be and that hasn’t changed. This incident has not changed that we are going to do everything we can liked I said to open on time,” Escobar said.
She says they’re working with authorities on the investigation. They plan on assessing the damage to the building soon to determine how extensive the damage is and whether they can open on time or with a delay.
