Nortonville man charged with defrauding fire department
A Nortonville man was charged with defrauding a fire department.
On July 3, the South Hopkins Fire Department Chief told the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office that funds and donations were missing from their bank account.
Deputies say an investigation revealed that 40-year-old Blakely Vaughn of Nortonville had altered business receipts to gain funds for his own personal gain.
Vaughn was a member of the South Hopkins Fire Department.
He was charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument 1st degree and theft by deception – including cold checks under $10,000.
