Man charged with rape of minor in Graves County
GRAVES COUNTY, KY — A Graves County man has been arrested on multiple sexual offense charges, including rape, Tuesday, according to the sheriff’s office.
The Graves County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy received a complaint on Friday, Aug. 18, that a minor was being sexually abused by a caregiver. The deputy and a Department for Community Based Services worker interviewed the minor, who reported two incidents of abuse happened to them in the past week.
The sheriff’s office says David Edgin is accused of abusing the juvenile. He was interviewed, and deputies say he denied any wrongdoing.
On Tuesday, Aug. 22, a forensic interview of the minor was conducted at the Purchase Area Sexual Assault Center in Paducah. After that interview, Edgin was arrested in Graves County.
Edgin faces charges of first degree rape, first degree sodomy, and first degree sexual abuse. He was jailed in the Graves County Jail.
