Local middle school students ranked number one on writing proficiency in KY
HICKMAN COUNTY, KY (WPSD) — Some local 8th graders are celebrating their Kentucky Performance Rating for Educational Progress, or K-PREP, test scores.
According to the recently released Kentucky schools report cards, middle school students in Hickman County scored the highest on writing proficiency in the state.
84.4% of students scored writing proficiency, making them number one in Kentucky.
The school had set a goal of getting to 70% writing proficiency, but blew past it. Last year, 56.5% of student scored in writing proficiency.
The high score means the school was also labeled as distinguished in writing.
