Bald eagle hit by truck to be released back into the wild

JACKSON COUNTY, IL – A bald eagle hit by a truck last month will be released back into the wild.

Beverly Shofstall with Free Again Wildlife Rehab says the eagle had no broken bones that they could find.

It’s difficult to determine the gender of the bald eagle, but Shofstall says because of its size, they believe it to be female.

She said the bird was stunned badly from the impact, so they believe she had a mild head injury.

Shofstall said the bald eagle did not want to fly for a couple days because it was badly bruised.

But with a little “TLC”, Shofstall said the bird is ready to go back to the wild.
