State Rep. Kenny Imes not seeking reelection, but not leaving politics

MURRAY, KY- A long-serving state representative will not run for reelection, but he’s not getting out of politics.

5th District state Rep. Kenny Imes told Local 6 Wednesday evening that he will not seek a fourth term.

Imes served a total of eight terms in his time in Kentucky’s House of Representatives. First, from 1972 to 1979. Then, he served from 2013 to 2018.

While Imes does not plan to continue as a state representative, he says he is announcing his candidacy for Calloway County judge executive.

The election for judge executive is in May of 2018.
