Longtime Marion, IL Mayor Bob Butler to retire

MARION, IL — Longtime Marion, Illinois Mayor Bob Butler says he will be retiring from the office next year.

In a notice from him, Butler says his hearing loss had started to impact his duties as mayor.

Butler says he will retire from the position on January 31, 2018. He has been serving as Marion’s mayor since 1963.
