2 arrested in connection to shooting in Carlisle County

ARLINGTON, KY – State police say two men have been arrested after a Bardwell man was shot Wednesday afternoon in Carlisle County, Kentucky.

Kentucky State Police Post 1 says 49-year-old Robert Ballard of Bardwell was shot just after 12 p.m. on Wednesday during an altercation at a home on Highway 1591 in Carlisle County. He was flown from the scene to an area hospital. He was treated, and has been released from the hospital.

Troopers say Ballard was shot during an altercation with 43-year-old Ronald Williams, also of Bardwell. Williams has been charged with with first degree assault, six counts of first degree wanton endangerment, and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

Another man was also arrested in this case. Investigators say 48-year-old Richard Wright of Arlington, Kentucky, has been charged with tampering with physical evidence, first degree wanton endangerment, second degree wanton endangerment, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Williams and Wright were jailed in the Ballard County Jail.
