2 People dead, 2 others injured after fire in Hayti Heights, Missouri

HAYTI HEIGHTS, Mo. —Pemiscot County Sheriff Tommy Greenwell says an adult and child were found dead after a fire early Saturday morning.

It happened at a home in the 100 block of Rappaport Street in Hayti Heights, Missouri.

Greenwell says the two bodies were found near the front door after the fire was put out. He says two 16-year-olds managed to escape with minor injuries.

The Pemiscot County Sheriff’s Office, Missouri State Fire Marshal’s Office, and Hayti Fire Department are investigating a cause. Hayti Police Department and Caruthersville Police assisted at the scene.

Greenwell says they do not suspect foul play.

Names are not being released at this time.
