Jeda Homes set out a plot of land to build a home that will be given away as a fundraiser for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The home will be in Cimarron Cove subdivision in Paducah.

Crews had an unofficial ground breaking at the home Friday and began working on a temporary driveway. They also marked the lot with flags and rope to determine the placement of rooms.

Phil Franklin of Jeda Homes gave us a tour of how the house will look and explained how it will be unique compared to the other St. Jude Dream Homes.

He also told us he never gets tired of building homes for St. Jude. He explained, “I’ve been doing this for about 40 years. I enjoy building and especially for St. Jude. Here, we are not just making one family happy, we are making a lot of families happy.”

Tickets go on sale May 8.
