Closure planned for U.S. 60/62 Mississippi River bridge at Cairo, IL
CAIRO, IL — The U.S. 60/62 Mississippi River bridge at Cairo, Illinois, will be closed starting Monday, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.
Closures are scheduled for the bridge starting 8 a.m. Monday, March 26, though 12 p.m. on March 30. After that, more closures are scheduled from 8 a.m. Monday, April 2, though 12 p.m. on Friday, April 6. The daytime closures will allow crews to perform an annual safety inspection of the bridge structures.
During the closure dates, the bridge will be open to traffic for a 5:30 p.m. to 7 a.m. window each day.
