Police release names of Paducah shooting victims

PADUCAH — Police have released the names of a woman who was killed and a man who was severely injured in a shooting Thursday morning.

The man and woman were found shot in an apartment in the 2300 block of South 25th Street around 2:45 a.m. Thursday.

Paducah Police say an autopsy was performed Friday morning at the Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville for the body of 42-year-old Sheila Lang of Paducah. Investigators say preliminary results of the autopsy confirm she died from the gunshot wound she suffered.

Police say the man who was shot, 31-year-old Clifford Moore of Paducah, was taken to a local hospital. As of Thursday afternoon, officers say Moore is listed in critical condition at the hospital.

The Paducah Police Department says it is investigating the shooting as a homicide, and officers are “actively following up on information about the incident and who may be responsible.”

If you have information about the shooting, you can call the Paducah Police Department at 270-444-8550 or Crime Stoppers at 443-TELL. You can also share a tip with police online through the city of Paducah’s website.
