Andy Beshear announces candidacy for Kentucky governor
LOUISVILLE, KY — Kentucky Attorney General Andy Beshear has announced that he is running for governor.
Beshear is seeking the Democratic nomination for governor in 2019.
His running mate is Jacqueline Coleman, a former teacher and current assistant principal at Nelson County High School.
Beshear made the announcement with Coleman Monday morning in Louisville. He is the first candidate to formally enter the race.
Republican Governor Matt Bevin has not said if he will be running for re-election.
