Teddy bear clinic scheduled in Paducah

PADUCAH — Is your child afraid to go to the doctor? A free event coming up at Kentucky Oaks Mall in Paducah aims to help kids see checkups are nothing to fear.

Baptist Health Paducah is offering a free teddy bear clinic from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 4, at Kentucky Oaks Mall. At the clinic, kids can see and touch common medical equipment like stethoscopes and otoscopes, become more familiar with health care professionals and learn about good health habits like hand washing properly covering sneezes and coughs.

The clinic will be by the CFSB Play Area near Dillards. Baptist Health says children are welcome to bring their favorite stuffed animal with them. Their teddy bear will be the patient at the clinic.

Local 6’s Bryce Mansfield recently gave us a look at a teddy bear clinic that was held in Carlisle County. To check out that story and get a better idea of what a teddy bear clinic entails, click here.

For more information about the teddy bear clinic to be held at the mall, email trish.edwards@bhsi.com or phone Kentucky Oaks Mall at 270-444-0440, ext. 102.
