Grocery grab to raise money for Habit for Humanity build

PADUCAH — The plot of land is ready for building of the 72nd Paducah-McCracken County Habitat for Humanity house.

The organization wants to spread the word that applications are open for the house being built right now. The nonprofit is joining with Banks Market for a grocery grab. Tickets for the grocery grab can be purchased at Banks or at the Habitat office. Tickets are $10 each or six for $50. Participants have 90 seconds to grab as many groceries as they can. They can walk out with up to $500 worth of groceries, bypassing the register. More than 100 tickets have been sold so far, and all the money goes to Habitat for Humanity.

Interested in the home being built at 2114 Jackson St. in Paducah? The application process is open for low-income families interested in applying for a three-bedroom Habitat home. Applications will be accepted through Aug. 31, 2018.

Applications and required documentation must be received in the Habitat office by 5 p.m. Aug. 31.
