Southern IL woman dies in overnight rollover crash

SALINE COUNTY, IL — A Stonefort, Illinois woman died in an overnight crash.

Around 8:25 p.m., Illinois State Police were called to a rollover crash on Ernest Reed Road, just north of Thomas Road.

Troopers say 46-year-old Brandi Bennet of Stonefort was driving south on Ernest Reed Road when, for unknown reasons, she left the road.

The car hit a ditch and rolled over, stopping on its roof.

Benett was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her passenger, 38-year-old Travis Conley of New Burnside, Illinois, refused medical treatment.
