Search for reported missing boater at Kentucky Dam halted

UPDATE 2:09 p.m.

MARSHALL COUNTY, KY — The search for a boater reported missing on Kentucky Lake near Lighthouse Landing and Kentucky Dam Marina has been halted, the Marshall County Emergency Management Agency says.

The EMA says search crews have not been able to find any signs of a boat or boater in distress or any debris. Boats with the Marshall County Rescue Squad, South Marshall Fire Department, East Marshall Fire Department, the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office and a Kentucky State Police helicopter were involved in the search.

If authorities get reports of a missing person, the EMA says the search will resume.

Officials ask anyone who can substantiate the earlier report of a sunken boat and missing boater to call Marshall County Emergency Management at 270-205-8947.


MARSHALL COUNTY, KY — Marshall County Emergency Management Agency Director Curt Curtner says they are looking for a sunken boat and missing boater at Kentucky Dam.

Crews are searching on the lake near Lighthouse Landing.

Curtner was told the front of the boat came out of the water prior to going missing.

Anyone with information on someone who was on the lake in the area is asked to call 270-205-8947.
