Union City Elementary classes to be at high school again

UNION CITY, TN — As gas line repairs continue at Union City Elementary School in Tennessee, the school system says those students will again have classes at the high school on Thursday.

School was canceled for the elementary school students Tuesday due to a gas leak, and they had classes at Union City High School on Wednesday as crews worked on the gas lines. Work at the elementary school will continue Thursday, so the elementary students will again be at the high school.

Just like Wednesday, parents and buses will drop off and pick up elementary students at the civic auditorium at Union City High School on Thursday. The district says the class times and locations will be the same as Wednesday. For more of those details, click here.

On Wednesday, Union City High School students were dismissed an hour early — at 2 p.m. — to help relieve traffic congestion at the end of the day. Those students will be dismissed at 2 p.m. again on Thursday.
