Trial for local pediatrician canceled

Dr. John Roach

PADUCAH– Doctor John Roach will not appear in court for a trial Friday.

Roach is charged with failing to report child abuse earlier this year. On Thursday, both sides agreed to sign up Roach for the deferred prosecution program for six months.

As part of the program, Roach will have to not be involved in any criminal acts, pay $195 in court costs, and complete six hours of education on the topic of child abuse.

Once complete, Roach’s charge can be dismissed.
