Paducahans gather for ‘Top Chef’ watch party to cheer on local chef

PADUCAH — Did you catch the season premiere of “Top Chef” Thursday night? A local chef is one of this season’s contestants.

Freight House owner and chef Sara Bradley is one of the contestants. Many of you gathered at Maiden Alley Cinema Thursday night at a watch party to cheer her on, and she was at the party too.

Laura Thornton was among the party attendees. She told us Bradley’s appearance on “Top Chef” is a great opportunity for Paducah.

This 2017 photo shows Sara Bradley, owner and chef at Freight House restaurant in Paducah, in an interview with Local 6.

“It kind of showcases the talent we have here at home and lets people you don’t necessarily have to go travel to larger city to get this quality, get this talent, get this quality of art — which is an art, cooking — here locally,” Thorton said.

Bradley is one of 16 contestants. “Top Chef” airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. on Bravo.
