Death of inmate at McCracken County Jail determined to be suicide

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY — The cause of death of an inmate at the McCracken County Jail was determined to be a suicide.

The inmate was found in his cell around 1:24 a.m. Friday night. Foul play is not suspected.

He was serving a sentence for operating under a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs, wanton endangerment, and unlawful transaction with a minor.

The inmate was also had a indictment warrant out of Anderson County for rape 1st degree victim under 12, sexual abuse 1st degree victim under 12, sexual abuse 1st degree, complicity to unlawful transaction with a minor 1st degree, and illegal controlled substance under 18.

Kentucky State Police say the death investigation is ongoing.
