Overturned semi impacts eastbound I-24 near exit 16

UPDATE 1:20 PM: All eastbound lanes of Interstate 24 near mile marker 18 are now open.


MARSHALL COUNTY, KY — An overturned semi is blocking the eastbound lanes of I-24 near exit 16.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says a semi has overturned at the 18 mile marker, about two miles east of exit 16.

Eastbound traffic is being diverted off at the US 68 Reidland-Paducah Exit 16 Interchange. Driver should detour via US 60 West and take US 62 East through Possum Trot to return to I-24 at Calvert City Exit 27.

The detour is expected to be in place until about 8:30 a.m. Westbound traffic is not impacted.

There are no word of injuries at this time.
