Massive second half pushes Murray State past SIUE 86-55

MURRAY, KY — The Murray State Racers outscored SIU Edwardsville 54-17 in the second half to pick up the 86-55 win at the CFSB Center on Saturday night.

The Racers trailed the Cougars 38-32 at the half after SIUE overcame at 12-point deficit in the first half.

With their three point shooting struggling, finishing 5-20, the Racers went inside where they scored a season high 62 points in the paint.

Murray State sophomore Ja Morant finished the game with a team high 20 points and 6 assists. All six of his assists came in the second half.

With the win, Murray State remains in a three-way tie for first place in the Ohio Valley Conference with Belmont and Austin Peay.

The Racers will now get a shot at the Governors for the first time this season as they will travel to Clarksville to face Austin Peay on Thursday night.
